74-year-old man pushed onto NYC subway tracks in unprovoked attack: Police

A 74-year-old man, who worked at a parking garage on Fifth Avenue, 

– was randomly pushed onto the subway tracks while waiting for the 6 train on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

The attack was unprovoked and carried out by a disheveled man wearing a dirty tee-shirt, 

– possibly suffering from mental health issues, who muttered to himself.

– The victim sustained multiple injuries, including rib and pelvic injuries, as well as a spine fracture, with his back and neck landing on the tracks.

– Detectives obtained video footage of both the attack and the suspect leaving the station.

While this attack doesn't fit a specific pattern, 

– there are ongoing investigations into incidents involving homeless individuals in the neighborhood.

– There have been ten incidents of individuals being pushed onto subway tracks this year, a decrease compared to the previous year.
